Annotation

The Bachelor’s degree in Protestant Theology offers you the opportunity to explore Christianity from an academic perspective – from its biblical roots to its role in church, culture and society today. You will be introduced to the central theological disciplines and learn: - To interpret the biblical texts in a philologically sound and hermeneutically reflective manner. - To understand the history of Christianity and its religious practice. - To question theological concepts and to explore dogmatic contexts. - To analyse ethical issues and social developments from a theological point of view. Through the intensive examination of historical traditions and current challenges, you will develop the ability to independently assess theological questions – an essential skill for a wide range of professional fields and further studies. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see www.uni-marburg.de/marskills).
