Annotation
This modern degree programme is located at the interface between chemistry and engineering. The degree programme provides knowledge and skills for the development of new materials such as nanostructures and the discovery and synthesis of new active ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry. Students will gain insight into basic research, which is characterised by a high level of practical application. For example, students will engage with the mathematical design of a reactor for the large-scale implementation of the processes that were previously investigated at the molecular level. Disciplines such as bioprocess technology or chemical reaction engineering are also part of the course. The course provides insight into experimental work in the laboratory. Internships in industry provide initial experience in working with large-scale production plants.
