"Lehramt.International" - work placements abroad for teacher training students and graduates (Module B)

[back to the main page of "Lehramt.International"]

As far as individual funding is concerned, "Lehramt.International" has created a target group-specific scholarship programme in the field of teacher training, funding work placements at schools abroad. Here, a specific -yet not ecxlusive- focus lies on students specialising in primary school education.

Scholarship holders will be invited to gain practical experience in their particular combination of subjects at a school abroad. Here, they will familiarise themselves with the professional field, acquire language skills, experience the unfamiliar and another working culture. Two groups of prospective teachers are addressed:

1) Teacher education students:

Funding line 1 supports focuses on short-term work placements abroad (1–6 months) and supports mobility as well as self-organised work placements performed by teacher education students in all subject areas and at all school types at educational establishments abroad. This process will be aided by the PASCH network, cooperation and partner schools of German higher education institutions and partner schools abroad.

2) Teacher education graduates:

Funding line 2 is aimed at graduates of teacher training programmes, and seeks to close the gap between the first stage of training (academic studies) and the practical phase during the study traineeship via a stay abroad. Funding will be granted for work placements (mobility and the stay itself) taking place between the first and second state examinations, or after the Master's degree, with a minimum duration of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months.
