The FIT program funds holistic university projects that focus on the entire student life cycle (qualification path) of international students - from study preparation and admission to university, through support during their studies and ensuring their success, to the transition to the job market - and support them with tailor-made measures. In addition, the program promotes the expansion of career-related support and advisory structures - so-called career services - for international students as well as the establishment of cooperative networks between universities and companies from the business world and other stakeholders relevant to the labour market. The aim is to establish clear transition structures for international graduates from German universities into the German labor market.  

The program should contribute to the following goals: 

1. To facilitate access for international prospective students (with and without a direct HZB) to study at a German university.
2. To increase the academic success of international students intending to graduate from German universities.
3. To increase the employability of international students and international graduates for the German labor market.
4. To promote the establishment of cooperative networks and transition structures between universities and the business community.
