Dr. Achamyeleh G. Mengistu is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of the Free State, Department of Soil, Crop and Climate Sciences, South Africa. His research focuses on the impacts of climate change on the distribution and water use of invasive alien plant species (IAPS) in the Free State Province of South Africa. Under the ClimapAfrica scholarship, his focus is primarily on the analysis of the distribution of invasive alien plant species (IAPS) under the current and future climate change scenarios.
Climate change expertise and interests: Hydro climate and water cycle, weather and climate interaction, Hydrometeorology and land surface processes, Hydrologic forecasting, Greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture.

I participate at climapAfrica because...
It offers me a good opportunity in networking with fellow African researchers and other researchers (e.g, from Germany) particularly in the field of climate change.
