Dr Josefina Tulimevava Hamutoko is currently a lecturer at the Department of Geology of the University for Namibia. Her long term career aspiration is to develop a framework to quantify shallow aquifers in drylands, their interactions with deeper aquifers, a changing climate as well as human activities for sustainable management. In climapAfrica, her work research will seek to improve the state of knowledge on wetland hydrology, utilization and management by carrying out a wetland inventory and assessment of the Cuvelai Basin in Namibia.

I participate at climapAfrica because...
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges the world is currently facing, and since it is a global issue, it cannot be solved by one person, one country nor by one continent, and thus it requires a combined effort from different people with different perspectives. Therefore I participate in this program with hope to contribute to a better understanding of climate change issues and influence decision making as well as promote climate change policies and regulations beyond the Namibian boarders.
