The degree in the interdisciplinary two-subject Bachelor’s course qualifies for admission to professional life and, DEPENDING ON ONE’S COURSE PLANNING, for the Master’s in Teaching Qualification for Grammar Schools and/or admission to a course of study in a subject-specific Master’s.\; this is the case, for example, for the Master's degree programmes at the University of Osnabrück in German Studies, Literature and Culture in Europe, Language in Europe and Theology and Culture.

In the dual-subject Bachelor's degree programme, alongside the core subject of German Language and a further core subject, an inter-disciplinary professional qualification area is completed, which, depending on the career goal, comprises the core curriculum Teacher Education (ICL) or the acquisition of key competences based on the 4-Steps+ model.

German Language can also be chosen as a minor subject in combination with the major subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Protestant Theology/Religion, Geography, Art Education/Art, Mathematics or Physics.
