Annotation

Major subject in combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with one or two minor subjects Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here:https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studieninteressierte/studienmoeglichkeiten/kombibachelor Philosophy is driven by the desire to understand our human experience, the basic structures of thinking and communication and the ethical foundations of our actions. The major subject degree course in Philosophy at the Philipps University of Marburg provides you with broad knowledge of the subject in terms of content and methodology. It qualifies you to analyse scientific and social problems in university and non-university professional practice and to assess them using arguments. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to the subject, focusing particularly on the use of the written word, and offers numerous opportunities to develop your own interests. History and current debates are closely linked. The degree course is intended to enable you to independently diagnose fundamental problems close to and remote from the subject and to demonstrate ways of possibly solving problems with the support of methodological arguments. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills).
