Annotation

The aim of the degree course in English Studies is to provide students with advanced knowledge of linguistics, literary studies and cultural studies as well as specific educational knowledge and skills and comprehensive competences in the field of scientific methodology in the respective subject areas. This is intended to equip students with the skills required for the independent acquisition, application and critical evaluation of linguistic, literary, cultural and subject-specific didactic models and theories. Students will be able to analyse complex issues independently and creatively as well as to plan, carry out and evaluate their own scientific projects.

Admission requirements

1) For admission to the Master's degree programme, a Bachelor's degree course at a University or an academic qualification recognised as an equivalent is a requirement. The preceding studies must exhibit a specialisation profile that serves as a basis for admission to the chosen course of study. The decision on the fulfilment of the admission requirements for the Master’s degree course as well as on exceptions will be made by the examination committee.

2) Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
