This degree course at the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, which has been running since the winter semester 2020/21, is a further qualifying degree course for midwives who are already certified or trained according to the previous law. Upon completion of the degree course, midwives can also obtain a "Bachelor of Science" degree. The existing professional qualification as a midwife is credited, which shortens the standard period of study. Upon completion of the degree course, graduates will receive a certificate of continuing education in "Practical Midwifery Supervision", which qualifies them to provide practical training/supervision to students in accordance with the Midwifery Act (Hebammengesetz).
