PRIME is a highly competitive funding program for postdocs. The target group are scientists who see their long-term professional career in Germany. Applications are open to postdocs with above-average qualifications from all faculties. We support an 18-month employment contract in accordance with TV-L13 and, during the phase abroad, an expatriate allowance corresonding to Annex VI.1 to § 53 BBesG.

The PRIME average funding ratio has rarely exceeded 12%. We expect that you support only:
- applicants with an excellent academic track record,
- well-written proposals,
- highly innovative projects.The host institutions in Germany and abroad must provide the perfect research environment to implement the proposed project. A PRIME fellowship should enable the candidate:
- to acquire additional scientific/methodological skills,
- to gain independence as a researcher,
- to become a serious competitor for more advanced positions
