Our Harz hall of residence, which was renovated in 2012, is located right in the centre of the city. In the listed building, a total of 71 students find a cosy home in single apartments and apartments shared by two or three students.
The market square, numerous stores, the university library, the opera and theatre as well as pubs and nightclubs are just a few minutes' walk away. The same applies to the city's two higher education institutions, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle.

Rent deposit
Before moving in, the renter has to transfer a deposit in the amount of three times the monthly rent, but no more than 350 EUR.
Duration of housing
The rental agreement is automatically extended by one semester up to a maximal period of six semesters.
After the regular rental period has expired, the rental agreement can be extended for an additional two semesters.

In the dormitories run by the Student Administration (Studentenwerk Halle), there are resident assistants (international students who also live in the dormitories). Their task is to help international fellow students to quickly get accommodated and feel at home.
