• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  To rent a room in one of the student halls, you have to be enrolled in one of the following universities:
  - Universität Rostock
  - Hochschule Wismar
  - Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock
  - Seefahrtsschule Wismar

  Application deadline
  Applications must be submitted by university students from 1 April and college students from 1 March of the year for the coming winter semester and from 1 October or 1 September for the summer semester of the following year.

  Application
  Applications for admission to a student residence hall are submitted online online application.
  If the letter of admission or certificate of enrolment has not yet been received, these documents must be submitted prior to signing the rental agreement.
  
  As soon as a place in a hall of residence corresponding to the application becomes available, information will be provided by E-mail.

• Additional information

  The price includes rent and utilities. All rooms may only be used by one person. Subletting is not allowed.
  
  For newly arrived, foreign students the Studierendenwerk Rostock, University of Rostock and the University of Music and Theatre Rostock offer a "Starter-Paket."
  The "Starter-Paket" offers everything a newcomer needs in a foreign country: accommodation and boarding, support and advice and the opportunity to get to know the new place.
  International students who have not lived or studied in Germany before and have an application of admission at the University Rostock or the Rostock University of Music and Theatre can book the "Starter-Paket".
  Short-time students and students on a programme (ERASMUS; Sokrates) are only considered subordinate. For international post-graduates it is not possible to book this service.
