• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  Requests can be submitted by:
  - Admitted or already enrolled students of the University of Magdeburg, the Magdeburg-Stendal University and the Harz University,
  - Not yet enrolled students who are going on to study at the University of Magdeburg, the Magdeburg-Stendal University or the Harz University.
  

  Application deadline
  First-year students may apply for accommodation one semester before the intended start of study. Otherwise there are no fixed deadlines.

  Application
  If interested in renting a room in one of the student halls run by the Studentenwerk Magdeburg or moving within them, an application has to be submitted. Applications can only be submitted using the online form.

• Erasmus+ students

  If you need a dorm room in Magdeburg, please send the completed online application form (available here) to the Studentenwerk during the ERASMUS+ application period.
  
  Most Erasmus+ students will get an accommodation offer. In the unlikely case that an Erasmus+ candidate cannot be provided a room offer by the Studentenwerk, the International Office will offer information about alternative on- or off-campus housing in comparable price ranges.
  
  Ms Osterburg (vermietung2@studentenwerk-magdeburg.de) is your contact person and can answer your questions about accommodation
  
  When applying for accommodation, please note the starting date of the respective semester. If you want to participate in the introductory events for exchange students, as recommended, please indicate the 15 September (winter semester) / 15 March (summer semester) as the desired move-in date.

• Worldwide-students from partner universities

  If you need a dorm room in Magdeburg, please send the completed online application form to the Studentenwerk. Ms Osterburg (vermietung2@studentenwerk-magdeburg.de) is your contact person and can answer your questions about accommodation. Exchange students who cannot be offered a room by the Studentenwerk will receive information about alternative and comparable housing offers.

• Additional information

  Due to high demand, accommodation can unfortunately not be provided to all students. Preference is given to students with children, programme students, as well as students with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
