Overview
The housing complex "Universitätsstraße 1", built in 1974, has a central location on the campus of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, opposite the Cafeteria "Bistro Uno" and the restaurant and bar "Campus Vita".
The facility was extensively modernised from 2009 to 2011. The modernisation has adapted the standard of the building and comfort of living to today's requirements. Measures included improvement of fire protection, installation of a central smoke detection system with alarm, renewal of the entire sanitary, heating and electrical installations, and the fitting of new modern elevators. A high energy efficiency standard was in particular achieved by improving the thermal insulation of the façades, installation of new windows and a controlled ventilation system. In addition, a grey water processing system was installed for treating the water from showers and wash basins that is then used for toilet flushing.

Rent deposit
A deposit amounting to three monthly rents has to be paid before conclusion of a tenancy agreement. This is returned after the tenancy period, provided there are no outstanding rent payments or damage/wear not attributable to normal use of the rented property.
