• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  All students who are enrolled at a college/university supervised by the Kaiserslautern Student Union can apply.
  
  In the student residence I in Trippstadter Straße 121, Kaiserslautern, applicants with BAföG certificate are given priority.

  Application deadline
  As a rule, there is no closing date for applications. In general, tenancy agreements begin on 1 March / 1 April or 1 September / 1 October of each year. Rooms are allocated as long as they are available.
  
  There are only fixed application deadlines for the student residence Trippstadter Str. 121:
  - for the summer semester by mid-February for enrolled students and first-year students
  - for the winter semester by mid-July for enrolled students and mid-August for first-year students

  Application
  Please scan the following documents and attach the scans to the online application:
  - Proof of enrolment or, for those new to studying, a copy of your certificate of acceptance to study
  
  The application can be submitted online without a letter of admission or certificate of enrolment; once you have received the letter of admission, simply add it to your application online using the web password.
  
  To apply for the Hall of Residence I in Trippstadter Straße, Kaiserslautern, you are required to submit a copy of a BAföG certificate. In this case, the application will be treated preferentially.
  
  Only completed applications will be processed.
  Your application is valid for one semester.
  The allocation of rooms takes place according to the order in which applications are received. Exception: Student residence I. Accommodation for this residence is allocated by a lottery.

• Exchange and Master's students at Campus Landau

  The International Office at the Campus Landau has agreed on a room quota for international exchange students and international Master's students with the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz. Within this quota, students can rent a room in a hall of residence for one semester, i.e., in the summer semester from 1 April to 30 September or in the winter semester from 1 October to 31 March.
  
  The application deadlines are
  - for the winter semester: 30 July,
  - for the summer semester: 30 January.
  
  To apply for a place in a hall of residence, please contact the International Office: erasmus-ld@rptu.de. Please enclose your Letter of Acceptance or Letter of Admission as proof.

• Exchange students at Campus Kaiserslautern

  University Kaiserslautern disposes of a limited number of rooms in the student dorms administered by the Studierendenwerk. Normally it is only possible to stay there for at least one year – but fortunately, exchange students of University Kaiserslautern can stay for just six months.
  
  Please apply online. Once you have sent your online application, you will receive an automated e-mail confirming your application and checking the accuracy of your personal data. This e-mail contains a confirmation link that you must click. Without this confirmation, the Studierendenwerk will not receive your application.

  If all halls of residence are full, the applicant will be placed on a waiting list. The applicant will also receive an e-mail every 30 days with a link to see if there is still interest in a place in a hall of residence. If the link is not confirmed within five days of receiving the e-mail, the application is automatically cancelled.
