• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  Applications can be made by all students who are enrolled/intend to enrol at an academic institution covered by the Studierendenwerk Tübingen-Hohenheim.

  Application deadline
  Applications can be submitted no earlier than six months before the desired move-in date. It is recommended to submit the application approximately three to four months before the desired move-in date, if possible.
  Generally, the rental agreements start at the beginning of a semester, i.e. on 1 March / 1 April or 1 September / 1 October in any year. There is not normally a closing date for applications. Rooms are allocated as long as they are available.

  Application
  Online Application is also possible before receiving the admission notification or study confirmation. Students are asked to submit their letter of admission or certificate of enrolment as soon as it has been issued by the college or university. Only after receipt of the letter of admission or certificate of enrolment can a place in a hall of residence be offered (regardless of when the application was received) subject to availability.

• Exchange students

  The dormitories are administered by the Studierendenwerk Tübingen (Student Services Organisation which is not affiliated with the university). Since the university does not own the dormitories, a room in a dormitory cannot be guaranteed. However, if you apply in time for a room, it is highly likely that you will receive a spot in one of the dorms as quota rooms are reserved for exchange students of the University of Tübingen.
  
  Please turn in your online application for international student housing as soon as possible.
  
  The application deadlines are as follows:
  - deadline for the winter semester: 31 May
  - deadline for the summer semester: 31 December
  
  Of course, you can also apply for a room after these dates. However, the chances with a late application are not as high as with a timely application.

  The Studierendenwerk offers all residents a starter package including a duvet, a pillow, covers and a sheet (Price: 80 EUR).
