• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  Students enrolled at the following institutions are eligible to apply for accommodation:
  - Johann Wolfgang Goethe University
  - Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences
  - Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK)
  - Hochschule für Gestaltung, Offenbach
  - Hochschule RheinMain Wiesbaden, Rüsselsheim
  - Hochschule Geisenheim

  Application deadline
  Applications can be submitted at any time and will be registered on the waiting list. Depending on current demand and the number of applicants, the waiting time until moving in can vary. Applying for the full range of available rooms generally results in a shorter waiting time, whereas limiting the selection, for example, to apartments only, can extend the waiting period to over a year.

  Application
  Applications for accommodation in a Studierendenwerk residence must be submitted online.
  
  The application must be accompanied by a tabular CV. Incomplete applications will be automatically deactivated.
  
  The receipt of the application will be confirmed by the Studierendenwerk via e-mail. Please note: This email must be confirmed to activate the application. Once the application is received, the Studierendenwerk will automatically send an email every 30 days to verify continued interest. The link provided must be confirmed within seven days of receipt; otherwise, the application will be automatically deleted.

• Exchange or ERASMUS students, scholarship holders

  If rooms are available within the contingency for exchange students, you will receive an application form together with a link for online applications. Guest students apply for places in Studentenwerk accommodation at the same time as applying for the period as a visiting student (Global Office).
  
  Please do not fill out the application form on the website of the Studentenwerk. The additional application does not increase your chances of receiving a room.
  
  Deadline for application is 16 May (winter semester) or 16 November (summer semester).
  
  The "Application for a place in a student hall of residence" is a binding application. If you have sent in a signed application but no longer require a room, you are obliged to immediately notify the Global Office (incoming@uni-frankfurt.de).
  
  In July/January you will be notified if your application was successful.
  
  Should you receive a “conditional confirmation” for a room in a student residence, you will be asked to transfer the deposit (two monthly rents) plus the first month’s rent to the account of Student Services (Studentenwerk Frankfurt) within a certain deadline. If the deposit does not arrive on the account of Student Services before the deadline ends, you will lose your reservation for a room in the student residence.
  
  Unfortunately, there are more applications than rooms. If the Studentenwerk is unable to offer you accommodation you will receive an e-mail from the International Office in February/August. Under these circumstances you will have to look elsewhere for accommodation.

• Additional information

  The rent includes the utilities; Internet has to be arranged by the tenant and is not part of the rent.
  
  A limited number of rooms can be provided to student interns from other universities/institutes. These rooms are available only during semester breaks or due to other organisational reasons. Special fees apply.
