Until now, My GUIDE has exclusively used the Higher Education Compass as its data source. As of October 20, the service has been expanded to include courses offered by DAAD International Programmes. This is a huge win for prospective students and higher education institutions alike!

 

The DAAD’s portal, My GUIDE, provides specific and relevant information to support prospective international students on their journey towards studying in Germany. Until now, the search feature for study programmes was based solely on data from the Higher Education Compass, the database of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK). Although the Higher Education Compass covers the entire study landscape in Germany, it does not distinguish between programmes with a generalised or more international focus.  

 

Integration of the International Programmes in Germany

In response, My GUIDE has now been expanded to include content from the DAAD database “International Programmes in Germany.” The degree programmes listed here provide special advantages to prospective international students:  

• Classes primarily taught in English language
• Focus on international matters
• Support from staff, who are experienced in assisting international students
• Smaller group sizes and tailored support, providing a seamless transition into the new environment

The DAAD’s International Programmes database strongly complements the search feature for study programmes on My GUIDE. Since October 20, My GUIDE has been providing prospective international students the opportunity to find study programmes that are specifically tailored to their requirements.

Amassing 3 million clicks per year, the publication of the “DAAD International Programmes in Germany” on My GUIDE also increases the visibility for international study programmes offered by higher education institutions, without any additional effort or costs.

 

Taking the next steps with My GUIDE Campus: 

The launch of the “International Programmes” section on myguide.de is yet another building block within the My GUIDE Campus project. In the future, the platform will be expanded to include additional features that can personalise the search for degree programmes and study prep with online self-assessments, language and subject-specific tools, and new digital services for higher education institutions. With this, My GUIDE can grow into an interactive multi-sided platform that makes German higher education institutions more visible on a global scale and supports international students on their individual paths to a German higher education institution.

What is My GUIDE?

www.myguide.de/en is a platform run by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It supports prospective international students on their individual paths towards studying in Germany. It provides:

• a tailored search feature across over 22,000 degree programmes and relevant scholarship opportunities,
• a matching tool for individual academic qualifications and the German admission requirements,
• the opportunity to get in touch with higher education institutions using an efficient contact form.
