KIWi Policy Talks

Panel discussion KIWi overview

KIWi Policy Talks offer a visible discussion forum for bringing university representatives together with policymakers to discuss and critically reflect on the theory and practice of foreign academic policy issues.

These high-level events are held regularly in virtual or hybrid format and gather renowned experts together to debate current issues that have ramifications on practical international academic cooperation. Among others, topics include challenging framework conditions, the question of red lines and how to deal with values and interests in academic cooperation.

KIWi Policy Talks have taken place on the German government’s National Security Strategy, the role of universities as stakeholders in science diplomacy and the topic of academic freedom. They are aimed at a broader university audience, are streamed live and offer the opportunity for interactive participation via the chat function. Interested parties can also follow the debates after the event in recorded form.
