TRAJECTS is being funded since May 2021 within the DAAD-programme Global Centres for Climate and Environment with means of the Federal Foreign Office. 

TRAJECTS aims to offer locally embedded, yet globally aware perspectives on the urgent transitions necessary to protect the Climate and Environment in the field of fossil fuel and land management. For this, demand- and policy-oriented research and teaching on the two principal processes of socio-technical transitions with a deeply inter- and transdisciplinary approach will be applied. With its main hub in Colombia, two Hubs in South Africa and Germany and global network of over 40 institutions in civil society, academia, think-tanks, public administration and business it aims to become a leading hub of sustainability teaching, research and action.

Measures: 
•    Development of joint study modules on just transitions in energy, climate & sustainability and renewal of existing programmes
•    Master- and PhD-scholarship programmes, thesis excellency award and internships
•    Joint virtual lectures series and a virtual lab
•    Forums for dialogue with non-university actors 
•    Set-up of a transdisciplinary network with university, non-university research institutions and organizations from civil society, politics and business
