The Profi plus funding programme is designed to enable German higher education institutions to offer international academics proven qualification to take up a profession in Germany.

    • The higher education projects funded under the Profi plus programme aim to qualify international academics to take up a profession in Germany that is appropriate for their training by providing them with subject-specific or profession-specific academic adaptation qualifications. The programme participants' chances of starting a career are specifically increased through the provision of additional specialist knowledge that is necessary for practising a profession in Germany, as well as language and soft skills relevant to the profession. Within the framework of cooperative networks between universities and companies, placement and transition structures are established in the (regional) German labour market.

The programme is intended to contribute to the following goals:

      1. Matching the qualifications of international academics to the subject-related requirements of the German labour market.
      2. Educationally adequate integration of highly qualified international academics into the German labour market.
      3. Attracting international, academically trained professionals for the German labour market.
