Grants towards the costs of a specialized event

Upon application, the DAAD supports events that

a) serve the purpose of professional-thematic exchange as well as networking and cooperation among scholarship holders, active working group members and alumni and alumnae of the program "ERA-Fellowship - Green Hydrogen" (Green Hydrogen Community),

a) serve the exchange with scientific, political, societal, cultural and economic institutions, or

b) increase, enhance or develop the skills and abilities of the members of the Green Hydrogen Community (e.g., workshops, seminars, etc.).

What are the requirements for receiving the grant?

To be eliglible for funding the event is required to cover and include topics of a professional or thematic nature. Events of a purely social nature cannot be funded.

Who is eligible to apply?

Scholarship holders, active working group members and alumni/alumnae of the "ERA Fellowships - Green Hydrogen" program are eligible to apply.

Which events can be funded?

The following types of events can be supported:

- Events that promote professional/thematic exchange and networking.

- Seminars that contribute to specialist or professional training.

- Seminars in which members of the Green Hydrogen Community share their expertise.

- Events that serve the support and assistance of German scholarship holders abroad or foreign scholarship holders in Germany.

- Training events for scholarship holders conducted by members of the Green Hydrogen Community.

Funding can also be provided for specialist events aimed at bringing together various actors for exchange and networking in a bi- or multilateral setting. Events that actively contribute to the establishment of a Green Hydrogen Community in the ERA are especially highly regarded in terms of funding by the DAAD. Also, networking actions and activities that go and continue on beyond limits of any singular event are strongly approved.

The following can be funded:

Travel and accommodation:

• Speakers' travel and accommodation costs

• Travel and accommodation costs of the Green Hydrogen Community

Material resources, in particular:

• Printing and materials

• Hall rent

• Technical equipment (rent only)

• Communication costs

• Thematic/professional excursions

• Fees for external speakers (only freelancers who are not DAAD alumni)

Eligible are only expenditures that are necessary and appropriate to implement the measure. Voluntary expenses, for example for gifts and tips, are not eligible.

The funds can only be used to finance expenses that were included in the financial plan and approved by the DAAD. All income and expenses related to the grant purpose must be proven by receipts.

The maximum subsidy amount is EUR 25,000.00 per event.

Application deadline:

Applications can be submitted continuously, no later than three months before the beginning of the event. As a rule, applications submitted at shorter notice can usually not be considered.
