Grants for advanced training

The DAAD offers scholarship holders, active working group members and alumni/alumnae of the program "ERA-Fellowships - Green Hydrogen" (Green Hydrogen Community) the option to apply for a grant for advanced training. The training should provide for further professional development and will be funded by up to a maximum of EUR 500.00 per applicant per calendar year.

What are the requirements for a grant?

The requirement for a grant (up to a maximum of 500.00 EUR) is that the advanced training contributes to the professional development of the applicant.

Who is eligible to apply?

Scholarship holders, active working group members and alumni/alumnae of the program "ERA-Fellowships - Green Hydrogen" are eligible to apply. The target group are students, doctoral candidates, and early career scientists (up to the status of junior professor), - already established scientists cannot make use of the offer.

Which training courses are eligible for funding?

Grants can be provided for the following training courses:

  • Leadership skills training
  • Specialized seminars with advanced training character (e.g. presentation training) or professional development seminars (e.g. career development, professional orientation)
  • Intercultural training (with regional or country focus)
  • Skills development training for scientists (e.g. science communication)
  • Job-related language course (e.g. " Business English ")

What else needs to be considered?

The training must be conducted by a professional provider and can take place on a single occasion or on a weekly or monthly basis. It can take place in online format as well as in face-to-face format.

Financial support is not available for conference attendance, summer schools, ongoing courses or continuing education measures and courses already started as part of studies. Further training courses within the scope of educational leave are also not eligible for financial support.

Fees exceeding 500.00 euros have to be paid by the applicant himself/herself. Fees incurred for final examinations and the issuing of a certificate cannot be reimbursed; this also applies to expenses for books and examination documents. There is no possibility of covering any travel and/or accommodation expenses.
