Funding programmes for alumni

Our alumni programmes provide ongoing support to former DAAD scholarship holders and offer them various funding opportunities within the global DAAD alumni network.

The programmes are usually adressing DAAD alumni. The Alumni Special Projects are targeted at so called Germany alumni.

The DAAD defines DAAD alumni as individuals who have verifiably received at least three months of individual funding from the DAAD.

The DAAD defines Germany alumni as foreign students who have usually studied, conducted research or worked at a German university for at least three months and who are now working abroad again.

The alumni programmes each have their own specific criteria.

Grants for alumni events
You would like to exchange expertise and network with other DAAD alumni? DAAD alumnni may organise an alumni seminar and apply for DAAD funding.
SDG Alumni Projects
Funding projects by universities and the DAAD for Germany alumni from emerging and developing countries on the topic of "Sustainable Development Goals".
ERA Fellowships – Green Hydrogen
DAAD alumni with expertise in the field of Green Hydrogen are invited to participate in the new program „ERA Fellowships – Green Hydrogen“. Different roles are open to you with benefits such as professional contacts and exchange, networking, training and funding.
Re-invitation Programme for Former Scholarship Holders
The DAAD is able to re-invite foreign former one-year scholarship holders who have been working back in their home country to complete a follow-up study visit.
Scientific Literature Programme
Former one-year scholarship holders can apply once a year for specialist literature to help them advance their academic knowledge and qualifications.
Material Resources Programme
In order to support and strengthen university partnerships, the Material Resources Programme funds equipment university infrastructure in developing countries.
DIES alumni programmes
Since 2005, DIES has supported more than 7,000 participants in training courses and projects.
Alumniportal Deutschland
Germany alumni can cultivate and strengthen contact with one another, as well as organisations, universities and companies.
