Special features regarding the library

Stock: 65,000 books, 90,000 e-books, 6,000 databases, 15,000 e-journals, 7,000 video tutorials, 3,800 DVDs/Blu-rays, 180 online daily and weekly newspapers, press reader access, comic collection, equipment lending; Services: The Stuttgart Media University (HdM) library is a state-of-the-art academic media library. Through specialist portals and catalogues, it offers access to information available worldwide. Through consultation and training, it promotes users' media and information competency and independent learning. There are more than 400 workstations, reading corners and many team workspaces. The learning centre offers group tables with fixed displays, mobile room dividers, whiteboards and digital flip charts. One special feature is an attached open creative workshop (maker space) and a separate learning environment.

Special features regarding university sports

The university does not have its own sports programme. Students of the Hochschule der Medien (Media University) can participate in the courses of the General University Sports Centre of the University of Stuttgart at reduced fees. Independently of the sports programme at the Universität Stuttgart, students of the Hochschule der Medien are also able to participate in competitions and tournaments offered as part of the university sports programme.
