Special features regarding university sports

The university does not have its own sports programme. All students and employees of Munich's state universities can take part in the Munich university sports. In addition, various non-state universities, institutions and groups have been granted eligibility. Participation is subject to fees. The ZHS offer includes sports from the fields of ball and game sports, mountain and climbing sports, fitness and health sports, martial arts, dance, trend and leisure sports, gymnastics and athletics, water sports and winter sports. We have a varied course programme for each target group with around 600 individual events per semester. In addition to the grass-roots sports activities, the university sports centre (ZHS) enables performance-oriented students to participate in national and international university championships. The career of many top athletes began in student competitions.
