Special features regarding research activities

In the course of seminar papers, "individual research" phases or final theses, students can work on questions from ongoing research projects in the department. For example, you have the opportunity to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the current state of research, to support the design and implementation of laboratory experiments and surveys, as well as to perform factor analysis and other methods of data analysis. Many students also initiate their own research projects under the scientific supervision of participating professors.

Support for founders

The department supports students with start-up projects. Current examples: Integreat: Founded in 2015 by Daniel Kehne as an FIM student while still studying under the academic guidance of Prof. Krcmar; Celonis: Former FIM student Bastian Nominacher, along with the other founders of the Munich start-up, were awarded 1st place in the Federal President's Future Prize for their successful process mining software; Deepset: The startup founded by former FIM students is committed to the efficient application of NLP in practice.
