Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The faculty lecturers ensure that the latest developments in building and construction are also taken into account in teaching by constantly updating the lecture content. Due to secondary jobs in the construction industry, many professors are very familiar with the latest developments in construction practice, which means that these are quickly incorporated into the course content. To ensure an interdisciplinary education, all students are required to take compulsory elective courses in general science. In addition to "seminar-style teaching", innovative teaching and learning methods are used.

Special features regarding the international orientation

In addition to good contacts in Brazil and the USA, there is close cooperation with the CDAI (Chinese-German Institute for Applied Engineering) of ZUST (Zhejiang University of Science and Technology) in Hangzhou, China. Seven Chinese students from Hangzhou are studying at the faculty. In return, German students can apply for a semester abroad at the CDAI.

Special features regarding the equipment

By continuously purchasing new projectors, PCs, printers, plotters and servers, the IT equipment of the faculty has been kept at a high quality and adapted to current requirements. The PC rooms are used by various courses in order to familiarise students with the application of computer programs for construction practice at an early stage. The equipment available for hybrid teaching is continuously improving.

Other special features

The numerous excursions offered by the faculty are taken up by students with great interest and offer a high degree of practical relevance.
