Special features regarding the equipment

With the CoreNAT research service and technology platform, the Faculty of Science as a Core Facility offers transparent access to advanced research techniques and analytical instruments. The decisive factors here are specialist knowledge and support – to make the corresponding scientific and technical expertise accessible. Connects research activities and ensures the efficient use of existing resources. Platform includes: Services, analysis, method development and training. Equipment/expertise for 12 interdisciplinary units.

Special features regarding research activities

The special features of crop sciences arise from a wide variety of different research approaches that address both questions of basic research (in particular plant biochemistry and plant molecular biology) and questions of applied research (in the areas of propagation physiology, plant breeding and phytomedicine). The research projects involve collaborations with other university institutions and non-university research institutions (Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) Gatersleben, Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) Halle, Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) Braunschweig/Quedlinburg/Klein-Machnow, BSA, LWK, etc.)

Other special features

The Faculty of Science had a guest professorship for gender and diversity in 2023/2024
