Annotation

The available language focuses are English, French, German and Spanish. The Master's degree course in Linguistics: digital, applied, structural enables you to pursue a cross-philological course of study in which you can choose from three areas of content specialisation and select different linguistic focal points: • Structures of Language(s) – Digital Linguistics (DL), two linguistic focal points, • Professional and Public Communication (PÖK), one linguistic focus, • Foreign Languages in Adult Education (FidE), one linguistic focus. The available language focuses are English, French, German and Spanish. In Siegen, you not only study across all philologies. By taking the MA degree course in Linguistics: digital, applied, structural, you also choose a stimulating and diverse linguistic environment. Through your chosen area of specialisation and the respective (foreign) linguistic focus, you will develop a linguistically, subject-specific and professionally ground-breaking profile even during your degree course. In the process, you not only acquire subject-specific knowledge and skills, which firstly pave the way for an academic career (including methods of text and interaction analysis in various fields of application) and secondly provide you with the necessary subject-specific skills for expert activities in the intended professional fields (including methods of evaluation and questioning in connection with foreign language courses, computer-assisted language processing and analysis of linguistic data, practical examination of business management issues, language practice). In addition to professional profiling, you also have the opportunity to gain or deepen practical work experience during your internship or to broaden your skills by studying general aspects.
