The major in Language and Communication enables you to study Linguistics in a comprehensive way, which enables you to develop competencies in all sub-disciplines of modern linguistics. The combination of linguistic and professionally-oriented or application-related modules qualifies you for numerous communication professions.
The main focus of the major is on the acquisition of linguistic knowledge that enables you to analyse language and communication in a wide range of areas and contexts.
You can deepen your knowledge in four exciting areas: speech science and dialogue research, text linguistics and pragmatics, language history and language variation as well as psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics. In the case of a semester abroad, there is the possibility of taking modules at a foreign university via "Studium International" and having them credited.
An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills).
