The Teaching Qualification for Special Schools (L5) prepares students for teaching at special schools, although the qualification is concerned with teaching at primary schools and at intermediate and German lower secondary schools in the teaching subject studied. Admission requirement for the Teaching Qualification courses with the degree 'First State Examination' is the general higher education entrance qualification (school leaving qualification) or previous qualification recognised as equivalent (NOT entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences).
