The following subject combinations are provided for the Bachelor's degree course for Teaching Qualification (Special Schools): -\tSpecial Education specialisation I (emotional and social development or learning) -\tSpecial Education specialisation II (one of the not selected Special Education specialisations I or one of the specialisations Mental Development, Hearing and Communication, Physical and Motor Development, Language) -\tTeaching subject I or learning area I (teaching subject Mathematics, learning area Basic Education in Mathematics or learning area Basic Education in Language) -\tTeaching subject II (Biology, Chemistry, German, English, French, Art, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Protestant/Catholic Religious Education or learning area II (learning area Aesthetic Education, learning area Basic Education in Mathematics, learning area Natural and Social Sciences, learning area Basic Education in Language) Sport can be studied as a teaching subject II at the Deutsche Sporthochschule (DSH). For Art, Music or Sport, proof of successful completion of an aptitude test has to be submitted upon enrolment. All special education subjects, the teaching subjects Biology, Chemistry, German, English and Mathematics, as well as the learning areas Aesthetic Education, Basic Mathematics Education, Natural and Social Sciences and Basic Language Education are subject to the local admission restrictions at the Universität zu Köln. Commencement of studies for the learning area of basic education in Mathematics in the winter semester is recommended.
