Admission requirements

Work placement of at least 6 weeks Practical work (pre-study work placement) is generally to be completed before the course starts and must be proven upon enrolment. If the pre-study work placement has not been completed in part or in full, an exception may be permitted in justified cases. The work placement must cover work from at least 2 of the following areas: – Manual or machine-based processing techniques for metals, plastics and other materials, – Joining techniques, – Assembly of machines and systems and/or their components, – Quality control, – Company organisation or IT organisation, - Work preparation or production planning and control. The work placement is deemed to have been completed if a course in Mechanical Engineering has been taken at a vocational secondary school for technology. Students with relevant professional training or proven industrial experience in these fields may, on application, not be required to complete this placement or may only be required to complete part of the placement.
