Annotation

Sustainable supply chains and business processes are becoming increasingly complex and diverse. Constant restructuring and environmental pressures are compelling companies to regularly review their supply chains. The topic of sustainability is on the advance and is leading to a constant need for a new generation of supply chain managers trained in sustainability topics who can deal with multi-level supply chains, reverse logistics, modern business processes, complex IT structures and multicultural stakeholders. In our new Master's degree programme, you will learn how to plan, control and analyse strategies, processes and the performance of the supply chain. You will know how to identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and how to find suitable solutions to improve overall performance. Modules on industry and SCM 4.0 help you to understand the digitalisation of supply chains and extend your expertise in relevant topics such as IoT, cyber-physical systems, automation and big data. You will extend your knowledge of various supply chain management and enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP and train your analytical skills to model and analyse business processes, workflows and material flows. In the Process Management and Operations Research modules, you will learn more about process mining, the optimisation and harmonisation of business and IT processes, as well as various process standards and supply chain methods. Due to the sustainable focus of the course, the MSc in Sustainable Supply Chain Management, is on upstream and downstream activities along the supply chain. This will teach you how to implement sustainability in supply chains and how to assess and measure the level of sustainability and total lifecycle costs in supply chains. You know that sustainability in the supply chain starts with green and sustainable product development and uses reverse logistics to avoid waste and excessive resource consumption. You understand the concepts of the circular economy and sustainability management and know that sustainable value chains should include environmental aspects, human rights, governance and other CSR issues. Thanks to the project- and skill-oriented structure of the programme, you can also train your intercultural, analytical, team-oriented and leadership skills in various practical projects with fellow students from around the world.
