Annotation

Study Psychotherapy at the MHB! Without NC. Compliant with license to practise medicine Practical practice-oriented. A Germany-wide special feature of the Bachelor's degree in Psychology (B.Sc.), which conforms to the requirements for admission, is its close proximity to clinical practice. The teaching formats of orientation internship and practical professional activity I, which are made binding by the new approval regulations, take place at the MHB in the form of clinic days in the MHB's cooperation clinics. In these innovative, practice-oriented teaching formats, students are given the opportunity from the very beginning of their studies to get to know the everyday life and interdisciplinary cooperation of different professional groups in health care on site and in direct contact with patients. In addition, the teaching and learning method of Problem-Oriented Learning (POL), which is based on specific cases, is used, in which students develop theoretical and application-oriented learning goals in small groups on the basis of patient stories and further deepen these goals by incorporating content from lectures, seminars and literature sources. A special oral-practical examination format is the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE). Students pass through several stations in which their communication and counselling skills are tested with simulation patients. In accompanying TRIK seminars (teamwork, reflection, interaction, communication), students exchange experiences gained during the clinic days or learn to deal with challenging or ethically responsible interventions. The TRIK format includes teaching in small groups and with simulation patients. The main focus is on the acquisition and reflection of therapeutic skills as well as cooperation in the therapeutic team under the guidance, supervision and responsibility of the teacher. With its new Bachelor's degree course in Psychology (B.Sc.), the Medizinische Hochschule Brandenburg Theodor Fontane (MHB) offers a practice-based course of study in which the human is the focus. The clinical oriented degree programme focuses on the acquisition of academically based knowledge and all of the skills and abilities needed for a psychological profession. The following applies: Psychological work cannot be separated from the communication skills needed for interviewing, teamwork and self-reflection. The university places great value on the teaching of this during the entire course, something which is unique in this form in Germany.
