Information on the selection procedure can be found here: https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/de/karriere/diplomat-gehobener-dienst The application deadline for the appointment date at end of July/beginning of August is in September of the previous year. A selection committee selects candidates in a multi-stage selection procedure. In principle, the courses are open to anyone with a university entrance qualification.
