Annotation
The energy industry is in a state of constant change. To drive forward this change, clever minds are needed who work at the interface between technology, business and society: industrial engineers with a focus on sustainable energy systems! In our degree programme, we prepare you in a practical and project-oriented way for the challenges of developing future and sustainable energy systems. Firstly, to give you a technical understanding of sustainable energy systems, we teach electrical engineering and thermodynamics content. Secondly, we introduce you to the most important methods from management and economics. In business administration, we prepare you theoretically and practically to develop sustainable business models and implement them in companies and markets. In economics, we teach you the market models as well as the fundamentals of resource, environmental and sustainability economics that are relevant to the understanding of energy policy. Thirdly, we cover the mathematical and data analysis principles for the modelling of energy systems in Python. Many practical elements such as project work, simulation games, case studies, excursions, professional conferences and workshops with companies enrich and facilitate the learning process and enable you to establish professional contacts. These can then be deepened during your studies through the "practice-oriented study programme". You will work in one of our cooperation companies during the semester – usually one day a week – as well as during the semester breaks. After completing the Bachelor’s degree, our Industrial Engineers – Sustainable Energy Systems have a large number of exciting professions and employers to choose from. For example, you can start your career in industrial and commercial companies, planning & engineering offices, management consultancies, energy management, software houses & IT service providers, authorities & associations, NGOs and foundations or in a start-up. Alternatively, you can continue your studies with a Master’s degree course – which you are very welcome to do consecutively with us. Have we piqued your interest? Then please visit one of our information events (see website) or contact us if you have any further questions or would like to take a look at the programme during the current semester.
