Target group

How can social work be designed with children, adolescents and adults? How are children's day-care facilities, social services, youth work, family support or services for the elderly developing? What research, what knowledge, what ability is important for social work? The Master’s in Research and Development in Social Work offers compact and well-founded answers to these and other questions. It is aimed at students who would like to choose a clear competency profile in the study of social work. It will deepen and consolidate your personal and organisational knowledge. The course focuses on your personal actions in social and educational policy developments in regions as well as in the wider social context. It opens up opportunities for designing social services. In the process, academic methods are developed in order to analyse, plan and organise fields and forms of action. The aim is to equip students as future professionally active social-work specialists with a contemporary set of tools of capacity for action and reflection. As a graduate, you will increase your decision-making capacity and the sovereignty of your professional activity. Backed up by the acquisition of academic expertise, you can combine the knowledge that you have gained from your previous studies as well as from experience in practical fields with the theoretically and empirically founded knowledge derived from research. And you can draw on the special skills of clients, volunteers and cooperating specialists from other professional disciplines.
