Target group
The MA degree course Vocational Education for Nursing and Healthcare Professions is aimed at professionally qualified people in the healthcare professions who already have a certificate of academic degree (at least Bachelor's level), especially in Nursing Education, Medical Education or Vocational Education for Nursing and Healthcare Professions: Nurses (healthcare and nursing, healthcare and paediatric nursing, geriatric care and nursing, care for people with special educational needs and obstetric care), speech therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, emergency and rescue paramedics, graduates with degrees in Nursing Sciences, Health Sciences and Medicine or similar who are aiming for professional and personal advancement in the fields of (vocational) education.
Annotation
The study programme in Vocational Education for Care and Healthcare Professions (MA) qualifies you to work at healthcare schools. For the state of Hesse, graduates of the degree course who also have a nursing profession meet the state requirements for working as a teacher at a nursing school. The degree course does not qualify for the traineeship for the second state examination in teacher training and thus for a career as a student counsellor at a state vocational school.
Admission requirements
Admission requirements: -a first certificate of academic degree in Nursing Education, Vocational Education with a focus on Nursing and/or Healthcare Professions, Medical Education with a final grade of at least 2.5 -Completed professional training in a nursing profession or a patient-focused healthcare profession -Professional practical experience in the respective nursing profession/healthcare profession of at least one year with an average weekly working time of at least half the full-time equivalent. - Proof of 45 ECTS points from the field of nursing care and public health -You can also be admitted if you have a first certificate of academic degree with a grade of at least 2.5 in a Nursing or Health Sciences degree course and a professional qualification with at least one year of professional experience and sufficient educational and didactic skills (30 ECTS points in the subjects of Education, Didactics and Subject-related Didactics)
