Target group

The degree course "Quantitative Decision-Making in Economics and Management" covers three complementary subject areas. These are statistical/econometric methods of data analysis, methods of data-driven planning and optimization of economic processes as well as the economic , social and behavioural science foundation of strategic interactions of individuals. By combining these course contents, students are qualified to support decision-making situations with analytical methods based on data. Such decision-making situations can arise in an entrepreneurial or institutional environment. The unique selling point of the course is that the graduates have a high level of expertise in the methods for data analysis and in the concepts for decision-making and analysis in both management and economic areas.

Annotation

The course will be offered for the first time in the winter semester 2022/23, subject to the approval of the relevant bodies. If the Bachelor academic degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be demonstrated: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted. If the degree was obtained abroad: officially authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition (responsible: Student Service - Admission International).

Admission is in principle open to all subject groups/areas of study, provided that the following subject-specific admission requirements are met: 1. First certificate of academic degree: Final certificate from the previous study programme, in which the following subjects are listed to the required minimum extent. 19 ECTS points in Mathematics/Statistics/Econometry/(Quantitative) Empirical Economic Research 18 ECTS points in Management/Economics 2. English language skills at at level B2. 3. Entrance test (The electronic test is intended to check basic knowledge and accounts for 50% of the grade used in the selection procedure.)
