Target group
The prehistory, early history and archaeology of the Middle Ages deal with the legacies of man from past times. These are developed using archaeological methods in order to scientifically evaluate and interpret them. The timeframe here extends from the beginnings of mankind through the Stone and Metal Ages to the Middle Ages and modern times. The geographical range includes primarily the Old World. Depending on the research direction, it ranges from Central Europe to the Mediterranean region and Africa to Asia.
