A number of additional qualifications can be acquired during the degree course. Certificates are offered for the following areas: - Radiation protection (X-rays and nuclear radiation) - Occupational safety 1 and 2 - DGQ certificate - Instructor aptitude ordinance After obtaining the Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree course can be attended. At the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, graduates of physical engineering can take advantage of the international English-language master's degree "Biomedical Engineering" for further qualification.

General higher education entrance qualification / Abitur or university of applied sciences entrance qualification or special professional qualification. Proof of an eight-week pre-study work placement must be provided by the end of the fourth semester. Corresponding technical vocational training can be recognised instead of the internship.
