• Standard application procedure

  Application requirements
  German and foreign nationals whose parents live outside Darmstadt and who fulfil the following criteria are eligible to apply for a place in a residence managed by Studierendenwerk Darmstadt. In order to qualify applicants must:
  - be students of the Technical University Darmstadt (Technische Universität Darmstadt) or the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences
  - (for foreign applicants) attend an introductory course (Studienkolleg) in Darmstadt as preparation for a university-level course of studies.

  Application deadline
  There are no application deadlines but the accommodation service of the Studierendenwerk Darmstadt recommends to fill out the online application as early as possible. There can be extensive waiting periods!

• Exchange students

  As an exchange student, you will receive a Housing Registration Code with your acceptance letter from the Office for International Relations and Mobility at TU Darmstadt. With this code, you can register for Housing Services by completing and submitting the registration form.
  
  Please note: The registration is for housing services only and does not guarantee finding a room.
  
  The TU Darmstadt Exchange Student Housing Assistance (ESHA) offers a broad variety of services to exchange students to help with finding adequate accommodation. These services include an Accommodation Guide (with links to private and public dormitories, hotels and boarding houses), guidelines for searching for accommodation on the private market, and assistance with housing contracts and moving into a student dormitory. Additionally, it will assist you with any questions related to housing or the housing market situation in and around Darmstadt. The Housing Service also cooperates with various (public and private) student dormitories and landlords in town.

• Additional information

  Internet access and electricity costs included in total rent.
  The residence is subject to the German law on social housing promotion. The relevant annual income of the tenants may not exceed EUR 18,166.
