The apartment complex Martinskloster/Haus am Baum is located on the banks of the Moselle near the Trier University of Applied Sciences and has 185 rooms.

On the monastery grounds, the Haus am Baum residential complex is was built parallel to the renovation of the historical monastery. The complex, built in wood-hybrid construction, comprises 110 barrier-free apartments, of which 12 are equipped for the disabled. It welcomed its first residents in the summer semester 2022.

Only students with a residence permit are entitled to live in this residence complex.

Due to its central location in the middle of the city, the facility is suitable for students of the Trier University of Applied Sciences as well as for those who prefer to be close to the city, because from here all the shopping and leisure facilities of the inner city can be reached very quickly. The courtyard of the residential complex, with its blood beech plant and the cosy barbecue area, offers the residents an oasis of peace and relaxation in the midst of the city’s hustle and bustle.

In order to help international students with everyday life in their new home, the Studierendenwerk Trier has developed a SERVICEPACKAGE. The Servicepackage offers the following services:

- accommodation near the university, in a two-room-apartment shared with another student (furnished) or optionally in a one-room-apartment (furnished)
- tutoring on site
- free Internet access in every room
- bed linen (one time)
- Study-Identity-Card: one-time charge of 100 EUR for use of the washing machine and dryers in the dorms and / or payment in canteens

The service package can be booked for a period of one to two semesters. The costs per semester are 1,950 EUR for accommodation in a flat shared with one other student and 2,510 EUR for accommodation in a single apartment.

Each residence hall run by the Studierendenwerk Trier is looked after by a tutor for international students who will assist you if problems should occur.
