Who is the DAAD?

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers. Each year, the DAAD awards tens of thousands of grants and scholarships, allowing German and international scholars to pursue their studies or projects in Germany or abroad.

But that is not all: the DAAD supports the internationalisation of German universities, promotes German studies and the German language abroad, provides countries of the Global South with best practices in establishing universities and gives advice in the area of educational and development policy.
