There is a foreign language centre. The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The running group consists of students, employees, teachers & alumni of the various departments and institutions of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. In the summer semester, training will be held on Tuesdays from 5 pm to 6:15 pm, under sports science guidance, at Stadion Rußheide, Mühlenstraße 121 in Bielefeld. In winter, the group moves to different sports halls within Bielefeld. Recently, there has also been an HSBI football community (open training for all levels, Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 6:00pm on the sports field of VfR Wellensiek, right next to the HSBI main building)
