The university library on the Minden campus in the immediate vicinity of the department, open around 45 hours/week. Around 70 workspaces, some with PC; Target-group-oriented training programme from introductory courses for first-semester students to workshops on the use of specialist information sources as well as further support programmes and advice on academic (digital), working, learning, researching, publishing, integrated into the courses as necessary; ILIAS learning management system and other services for digital teaching and learning.

The university offers its own sports programme. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. The running group consists of students, employees, teachers & alumni of the various departments and institutions of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. In the summer semester, training will be held on Tuesdays from 5 pm to 6:15 pm, under sports science guidance, at Stadion Rußheide, Mühlenstraße 121 in Bielefeld. In winter, the group moves to different sports halls within Bielefeld. Recently, there has also been an HSBI football community (open training for all levels, Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 6:00pm on the sports field of VfR Wellensiek, right next to the HSBI main building)
