Some of them are open daily late into the evening and they provide support during every phase of study: They offer information on the library's own YouTube channel and other social media platforms, personal advice, workshops and tutorials from the start of studies to the final thesis, learning labs and 1,700 reading spaces and PC workspaces. Study literature and specialist information for all subjects are continuously updated and are easily accessible.

The university offers its own sports programme. Students of the JLU can participate in the sports programme of Philipps University Marburg and the THM (Technical University of Mittelhessen) thanks to a cooperation agreement in place. Participation is subject to fees. Through its varied and qualified sports programme, the Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) aims to offer all students the opportunity to do sports and regular exercise as a balance to their predominantly sedentary study routine. The weekly course programme with a focus on health promotion features a wide range of sports and classes. It is supplemented by events, digital course formats and student health management programmes, such as on the topic of relaxation and stress.
